Comments:
I have a background in bioinformatics, government policy, and journalism. I
started exploring SVG for use in data visualization and multimedia
journalism. But I ended up writing about SVG (first tutorials, then books)
instead.

I joined the SVG working group in late 2014 to contribute to the SVG
Accessibility task force. I'm now one of the more active members of the
working group and a co-editor of the SVG specification, and editor of
specifications related to SVG accessibility.

Beyond that, I'm a freelance web developer and am now doing web standards
consulting for hire.

So many ideas… but I probably won't be leading any community group
projects this year. My role will be to set up the infrastructure to make
sure everyone gets the help they need.
