Re: [svgwg] Opacity properties should affect nothing but opacity

I would be extremely against making SVG more gratuitously different 
from HTML elements in the way CSS effects them.

The transform *attribute*, and that's only possible because it works 
in such a way that it's indistiguishable whether the transform is 
applied on the group or the shapes (rotate and scale are both stuck 
with using the left/top origin).  This isn't true in general, and the 
transform *property* can expose the difference, but it (by virtue of 
its definition) does create a stacking context.
