I've been somehow overwhelmed lately, so owning an activity sounds a
bit too much, at least for now. Nevertheless, I'd like to participate
in both activities:
 1. I still haven't dived into the torture tests as I'd like to. Not
that I feel specially skilled to creating tests, as I've been more
used to creating "ugly" workarounds to implementation limitations/bugs
up until now, but probably it's only my mind which needs to change a
bit! :-D
 2. I've been progressing slowly through the book (I'm entering
chapter 6). I've been trying to checkout the book's source but still
no luck... :-(

I imagine being able to candidate to owning the torture tests if/when
things cool down, or go for it now if no one else steps it for
assuming that activity in the short term (I guess somehow the same as
David Storey). ;-)

I also found Manuel Strehl's ideia of translating the book
interesting: I may be able to start thinking about that (translating
to Portuguese, in my case) whenever I'm able to finish reviewing it.
:-)

Regarding the checkout of the book's source, I really though it would
be interesting to gather the information (G. Wade has shared in this
thread) into a SVG-IG wiki page. :-) I'm trying to figure out a way
to do it in Windows (read: using GUI tools and avoid the console) and,
whenever I'm able to, I'll post back. Of course that if someone else
already came up with a procedure, I'm listening! ;-)
