The IG chairs had a talk recently to discuss the SVG > Interest Group, its purpose, direction and future. I'll take this opportunity to introduce myself to the group. Short reply is that I can not commit to anything, but will chip in with small pieces as time permits - which it won't until March... Long version: I am working as a teacher in Trollhättan, Sweden, and I have developed a class about markup languages, and while it is not SVG specific, I usually include some SVG. I am also a member of WaSP Educational Task Force and OWEA. I will try to include a "graphics on the web" course in the Interact Curriculum Framework. My idea is that it would focus on both SVG and Canvas. We'll see if there is any interest from the rest of the group. Right now I am running very late on the courses I am doing for this year (DOM Scripting and Server Side Scripting). I am developing courses for the national agency of education in Sweden (Skolverket) and will write them in a way that encourages schools to teach SVG. It will specifically be an option for "Front End Development 2" which is one of the 5 courses I am writing. I need to have them ready in 3 weeks time from now. Some additional stuff I've done with SVG: - I have contacted Paul Irish and with the help of Robert O'Callahan, he will make Modernizr include an SVG clip-path on HTML content test. We could not conjure up a scripted test for SVG filters, though. (Once again on HTML content, not pure SVG.) - I have submitted a few bug reports and test cases to the bug trackers for Mozilla and Webkit. -- Lars Gunther http://keryx.se/ http://twitter.com/itpastorn/ http://itpastorn.blogspot.com/
