Some time ago I started this little discussion in the SVG IG wiki:

It includes a list of features that are probably more broad in scope than the sorts of things you guys are discussing but in might be a good place to consolidate notes??
HTML-kit now has a nice SVG plugin for those doing SVG/ Javascript.
