A just slightly different version of what has very recently been posted to the SVG Open 2009 list at Yahoo: Pittsburgh is a good first-rate solid option, but nothing beats Silicon Valley for a location. But of course that doesn't count without a solid organization there ... ... just exploring so far ... Jonathan Watt, Mozilla's main SVG developer, has asked management whether Mozilla would be interested in organizing SVG Open 2009. He was told to arrange a selling story as it would probably need to go through management all the way up. And the idea came up that maybe management would like it better if other browser builders co-organized as a sort of "the modern open web is here" thing. Chaals will ask about possibilities within Opera, so no promises there yet either. I'm waiting on a reaction from Apple. In the mean time Jonathan Watt is figuring out what organizing involves. As he wants to be productive as an SVG implementer, he has to limit his time on organizing the event himself (IF he would be part of it). Any thoughts?
