Re: Bringing the Green Web to WordPress [via Sustainable Web Design Community Group]

Hey Guys,

I love what you are doing… I’m swamped with other things these days… but wanted to share a video I created 6 years ago, based on figures from Jonathan Koomey’s report in 2007 (which he presented to Congress) entitled: Estimating Total Power Consumption by Servers in the US and the World (https://www.dropbox.com/s/h03yf11nyn056uz/Koomey_Server_Power_Report.pdf?dl=0 <https://www.dropbox.com/s/h03yf11nyn056uz/Koomey_Server_Power_Report.pdf?dl=0>) along with my own calculations from various sources.

Here’s the video I made to communicate those (very dry) statistics in layman’s terms: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uq0jbqn4esshlbt/The%20Internet%20Is%20Bad%20For%20the%20Environment.mp4?dl=0 <https://www.dropbox.com/s/uq0jbqn4esshlbt/The%20Internet%20Is%20Bad%20For%20the%20Environment.mp4?dl=0>

Keep up the good work!

-Jonathan

I say theoretically because some things are dependent on the host, MozRank etc. But if, for example, I could get the demo site for the theme near to 100, that'd be awesome. And I could also centre all of the content on the demo site around Internet sustainability.
