Dear Solid Community, I’m excited about this new chapter and wholeheartedly agree that the support from ODI will provide the organizational boost the Solid community has been needing. Having worked alongside this community in the open-source space for quite some time, I’m really looking forward to continuing that collaboration in this new context with the ODI. In the coming weeks, I will be focused on gathering feedback and input to ensure we strike the right balance between providing the support we need and maintaining the independence and collaborative spirit that makes Solid so special. Please feel free to reach out with any thoughts or suggestions. I’ve had some questions come to me from the research and open-source communities working on Solid who have been asking about the nature and scope of ODIs involvement - there is a public discussion about this taking place at https://forum.solidproject.org/t/a-new-organisational-home-for-solid/8004/3 which answers some of these questions, and where you are welcomed to participate. Importantly, I want to highlight that *we are committed to setting up a governance structure that supports and preserves the independence of the Solid community* and that* there are no changes to the current mission or independence that will be imposed by the ODI*. Following a suggestion from the forum, we are working to schedule an open meeting in the coming weeks to answer any questions you may have about this. Looking forward to working with everyone as we move forward!
