Hi Sjoerd van Groning,

Historically, I've found the terms federated and decentralized to be 
sources of confusion. Typically, I just stick with "loose coupling" as 
an alternative, since Solid is about loosely coupling applications and 
data storage -- aided by a single sign-on functionality that 
incorporates a variety of authentication protocols.
