The time commitment varies hugely from group to group, and really depends on how much time the chair wants to put into it. Ours is quite a small group of about 50, but by no means the smallest out there. For example, in the read write web group (which has about 90 members), Andrei and I were chairs, and our "official" duties were roughly to respond to about 1 staff email a year (e.g. asking do you want to host a workshop) On top of that it's really up to the chairs if they'd like to do extra work items, or guide the group in a certain way. The idea of community groups is extremely casual so members and chairs choose their own level or participation. I would +1 everyone that has volunteered, because normally in a CG it's not so easy to get volunteers. From my experience, between 1-3 chairs is an ideal number. That will be enough to get us going, and if necessary a more formal chairing process could be worked on -- but it's normally not needed. > > > > > On Tue, Oct 30, 2018 at 12:32 PM Adam Lake <alake@digitalbazaar.com> > wrote: > >> +1 to Dmitriz as chair.
