Hi all, I apologize for the confusion that led to the cancellation of this week's call. Evan and I weren't available this week. While it is nice when WG members help set up the agenda, ultimately it is the chair's responsibility to ensure the agenda is set before the call, with as much as possible enough lead time for people to prepare. Tantek apparently said there wasn't anything to talk about but he evidently failed to take into account the agenda items left over from last week and that should have been carried over to this week's agenda. This has always been the case but it is even more true with the FIFO agenda model we've adopted. The chairs and team will have to discuss this and see that it doesn't happen again. -- Arnaud Le Hors - Senior Technical Staff Member, Open Web Technologies - IBM Software Group Melvin Carvalho <melvincarvalho@gmail.com> wrote on 11/17/2015 09:24:32 AM: > From: Melvin Carvalho <melvincarvalho@gmail.com> > To: Sandro Hawke <sandro@w3.org> > Cc: "public-socialweb@w3.org" <public-socialweb@w3.org> > Date: 11/17/2015 09:24 AM > Subject: Re: today's meeting cancelled > > On 17 November 2015 at 18:10, Sandro Hawke <sandro@w3.org> wrote: > many regrets, and no agenda items proposed > > <tantek> greetings #social - since no one has added anything to the > agenda for today, and I am your chair today, I am cancelling the telcon. > https://www.w3.org/wiki/Socialwg/2015-11-17 > > FYI: for future reference > > <tantek> making a point, if no one thought anything in particular > was important enough to put on the agenda, then better if we cancel > and give people the time back > <tantek> sandro - no - if no one brings up a specific issue as being > worthy of synchronous time - then it is better NOT to waste > everyone's synchronous time with boring issue iteration > <tantek> please continue asynchronously everyone. thank you!
