We had quite a few invited expert applications. About 1/3 were
accepted as Invited Experts due to being vouched for by the chairs and
Team, by being developers who were "dog-fooding" and developing
federated social technologies but did not clearly having the financial
capabilities currently to pay for W3C membership.
An slightly smaller additional group were given 6 months since the W3C
believes that their organisation should be able to join the W3C, but
nonetheless a 6 month "test-run" of the WG was viewed as appropriate.
About 1/3 of the applicants were *not* approved. If you were not
notified of acceptance and still wish to be an Invited Expert, please
contact hhalpin@w3.org for follow-up. It is also possible that we did
not catch your IE application.
There are a few people (Wilkie, Kevin Marks, etc.) who seem to have
technical issues with their IE approval. Please be in touch.
Note that the Social Interest Group is still processing its Invited
Experts due to a technical glitch in the W3C database.
