Re: Canceling Social IG Jan 7th meeting - call for a new chair!

Indeed! Well said, Alberto. Very disappointing to lose you, Mark. (and SAP, too)

Ann,

SAP has decided to focus our standardization efforts on cloud and internet of things in 2015 and has reallocated our W3C resources elsewhere. I continue to push for additional resources for W3C activities but at the moment our membership has expired.

Best Regards

Oh no, that's horrible news! Darn, what a loss. Mark -- I hope it's not complications with your shoulder.

I will volunteer,** IF ** one other person will co-chair with me. I just today accepted what will be a high-pressure new role in Boeing, so cannot commit to being chair all by myself. C'mon, one of you -- we can do it together!

Everyone,

Mark Crawford is stepping down as chair, and so we'll need a new chair ideally two co-chairs ASAP.

I'd like to give us 2 weeks to find a new chair before our next meeting, since the agenda on the wiki seems pretty open, so I'd like to consider canceling the meeting tomorrow (7th) and reconvening after we select a new chair.

The general requirement for chairing is the responsibility to host the meetings regularly, keep up with mailing list traffic, and be an employee of a W3C member.

See more info here:

Any volunteers?

Feel free to mail me offlist and happy to do a teleconference.

  cheers,
       harry
