Re: [External] CFC - WCAG 3.0 Heartbeat publication

Chuck, yes, if the new guideline isn’t included then it definitely changes my response to +1.

Thanks,

To confirm, this is the difference between the editors draft and the stage working draft. Your concerns are correct and we are addressing them in the stage working draft.

We are pulling the new guideline from the stage working draft, and we are also fixing some issues with links in the stage working draft.

Given that the stage working draft will have the new guideline removed, will that satisfy your concerns, and will you be able to +1 this CFC Andrew?

Thanks,
Chuck

Noted Andrew,

Regarding the links and content, we will review and update as necessary.

Regarding yesterday’s “decisions”. While there was no resolution, the new error prevention guideline will not be added to this heartbeat, as there was no consensus to add it.

Regards,
Chuck

Chuck, the second bullet describes “editorial updates” but included in that link is a new guideline, which is not editorial.

Can you or someone clarify what was actually decided on the call yesterday and what changes have been made to the spec as a result? I thought that we might see something about the scoring for this section being under development as a few of us were asked if that would address our concerns with adding this guideline in the normative document at this point, but don’t see that anywhere.

Right now it appears that the guideline is just added, so I’ll wait to hear what response there is to this questions, but until then I’ll leave a my temporary response to this CFC:

-1

Thanks,
AWK

Most of the changes remove content that went into the explainer that is NOT part of this heartbeat publication. We will do a more thorough review of the document before publishing the explainer as a separate TR note.
