Summary and Minutes of Silver XR meeting of 3 August 2020

== Summary ==

  * We reviewed the timeline to complete the XR caption work for the
    WCAG3 FPWD.  We need to have the Functional Outcomes complete by 11
    August and the rest of the content by 31 August.
  * We reviewed the Functional Outcomes and changed them to reflect the
    resolution from the main Silver group from the meeting of 31 July. 
    We will present these at the next Silver meeting for feedback and
    approval.

Proposed Functional Outcomes (Note: they still need plain language editing

  * Translates speech and key sound effects into alternative formats
    (for example, captions) so media can be understood when sound is
    unavailable or limited.
  * Conveys information about the sound in addition to the text of the
    sound (for example, sound source, duration, and direction) so people
    know the necessary information about the context of the sound in
    relation to the environment it is situated in.
  * Provides captions and caption meta-data in alternative formats (for
    example, second screen or braille display) to allow users the
    opportunity to move caption and meta-data to alternative displays.
    For example, this benefits people without sound and vision, people
    who need assistive technology to magnify portions of the view, and
    people who have limited reach.
  * Provides customization of caption style and position to support
    people with limited vision or color perception. Customization
    options can benefit all users.
  * Provides customization of caption timing to support people with
    limited manipulation, strength, or cognition.
