While looking for another paper (Giorgio Brajnik's Barrier Walkthrough <https://users.dimi.uniud.it/~giorgio.brajnik/projects/bw/bw.html>) I ran across some research papers on Conformance that I haven't looked at in a long time. Some are related to some of the issues we are discussing in the Conformance subgroup. In 2011, W3C WAI hosted a Web Accessibility Metrics Symposium. The papers and slide <https://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/2011/metrics/proceedings.html>s from the presentations are still available on the W3C WAI site. I was particularly interested in "A Template-aware Web Accessibility metric <https://www.w3.org/WAI/RD/2011/metrics/paper3/>". It was a good reminder that many people have been thinking deeply about conformance for a long time and we should look at their work. I would be interested in reading newer research as well. If anyone has links to relevant papers, please share them. jeanne
