Mayo Clinic Faculty Position in Biomedical Informatics
The Department of Health Sciences Research at Mayo Clinic is seeking applications for a Faculty Position in Biomedical Informatics. This position involves substantial, long-range institutional research support. Preference will be given to candidates at the Associate Professor or Professor level with significant record of research accomplishment, scholarship and recognition in the field of Biomedical Informatics.  The successful candidate will establish and maintain a multidisciplinary team to advance primary and secondary uses of health information for research and improving health outcomes by developing novel methodologies in data integration, information retrieval, natural language processing, and analytics.  Success will be measured by securing extramural funding, providing major contributions to this field of science and ability to translate findings to impact the clinical practice and public health.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. and/or M.D./Ph.D. in biomedical informatics, computer science or related fields; a track record of developing and maintaining a successful independent research program; demonstrated success in collaborating with clinical and/or basic scientists; a track record of published works in high-quality, peer–reviewed journals as first and/or senior author and presentations at national/international research forums; interest and ability to teach methods courses; and demonstrated competences for mentoring (e.g. graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, residents, clinical and or research staff).
