Opening for Postdoc in Bioinformatics and Imaging at Stanford University

Postdoctoral opportunities in Bioinformatics and Imaging at Stanford
University

The laboratory of Dr. Daniel Rubin at Stanford Medical School in the
Departments of Radiology and Medicine (Biomedical Informatics Research) is
seeking highly motivated investigators to develop and study novel approaches
in data-driven biomedical research to discover new molecular and imaging
biomarkers to revolutionize health and health-care. We are integrating
imaging and molecular phenotypes and applying cutting-edge machine learning
methods to define subtypes of disease that correlate with survival and that
will enable personalizing care. Post-doctoral fellowships are fully funded.

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. with a
strong background in bioinformatics, biostatistics/machine learning, and
genomics, with an interest in or experience in imaging, and a great
publication record. Excellent communication and programming skills, strong
problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and the ability to develop
algorithms and new software tools are required. A background in computation,
molecular biology or medicine, and imaging will be desirable. Prior
experience with molecular data analysis, microarray data, and text-mining,
will be a plus. Applicants must possess good communication skills and be
fluent in both spoken and written English. This exciting work will be guided
by multidisciplinary collaborations with top scientists in cancer and
imaging research at Stanford and elsewhere.
