Nature Publishing Group is looking for an Editorial Biocurator to be 
responsible for curating content from a variety of life science domains 
for Scientific Data http://www.nature.com/scientificdata.
This is a new open-access, online-only publication for descriptions of 
scientifically valuable datasets and is designed to foster data sharing 
and reuse.

Editorial Biocurator*

*Location: *
London (Office based)
*
**Purpose of the role:*
To curate data descriptors from a variety of life science domains, 
establish criteria for doing so and maintain consistency and quality of 
curated information.   Manage and develop scalable workflows, tools and 
processes for the curation of data descriptors as part of online 
authoring and publication process. To ensure that the curated 
information stored is of the highest quality and suitable for powering 
the required applications.

*Qualifications: *
A life science graduate, with a master's or doctoral degree in related 
discipline, or computer science and bioinformatics.

*Biocuration skills and experiences:*
- Previous experience working as a biocurator is highly sought.
- Backgrounds in working with high-throughput data in life science 
and/or previous experience in publishing (copy-editing/production/web) 
are required.
- Sound knowledge of minimal information requirements, exchange formats 
and terminologies/ontologies is required.
- Working experience with these community reporting standards, in 
particular with ISA-Tab (http://www.isa-tools.org) 
<http://www.isa-tools.org/>, would be highly advantageous

*Technical criteria:*
The following knowledge and experiences are considered to be desirable
- relational databases, XML, RDF /Linked Data, SPARQL, Java Script, Perl, R
- ability to perform user requirements analysis
- ability to communicate requirements to developers
