Wikipathways presentation: Google Hangout - 10 participant limit

My apologies to all who wanted to attend the SPARQL for Wikipathways
presentation. Apparently, Google Hangout has a hard limit of 10
participants (even when it isn't 10 video channels). Also, when I sent the
invitation to the mailing list from Google Hangout, I didn't realize that
it would be blocked (probably was sent from Google instead of my e-mail
address).

I'm afraid that I hadn't checked with Andra (the presenter) whether it
would be ok and so didn't select the "air" option for a youtube recording
this time. If there is a next time, I will clear that ahead of time.

Andra - if you get a chance to make a short screen recording, I think there
are lots of folks interested (could come in handy for SWAT4LS too). I'm
attaching Andra's presentation slides.

We keep fishing around for screen sharing software that works on all
platforms. I guess Google Hangout won't be useful for anything but small
meetings unless we can get support for 15-20 participants

Other options for the future that we discussed at the end of the meeting
were: WebEx (through MIT), GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar (through IO
Informatics). Andra had suggested http://join.me but I couldn't find a
mention of Linux support on their web page.

Last year, we occasionally used Big Blue Button (open source) on Michel
Dumontier's server that I think handled all platforms reasonably well.

Suggested criteria for screen sharing programs:
* All platforms: Linux, Windows, Mac, (Android, iPad)
* All major browsers
* quick link to meeting
* quick, small install of plugin
* ability to record
* ability to chat and log chat (could not recover the chat from our Google
Hangout yesterday!)

P.S. If you are going to the SWAT4LS hackathon or tutorial in Paris on Nov.
28-30, you will have another opportunity to learn more about SPARQL and
Wikipathways from Andra Waagmeester there.
