He will also discuss his opinion as to the biggest challenge the SW community will face in the next few years is organization of the linkages between the genome and the phenotypical disease expression. The Disease ontology is trying to tackle part of this but there is so much poorly linked data on disease states, biomarkers, gene snips, proteins and gene expression that it is going to be hard to deliver on the promise of personalized medicine.
