The next NCBO Webinar will be held Wednesday, February 17 at 10am PT. Please note there will not be a VOIP option and attendees must call into the teleconference. The Webinar will be presented by Dr. Margaret-Anne Storey from the University of Victoria. The title of the presentation will be “Ontology visualization as a service”. Below is information on how to join the online meeting and accompanying teleconference. For a schedule of the 2010 presentations or for more information about the NCBO Seminar series, see: http://www.bioontology.org/seminar-series. TITLE: Ontology visualization as a service ABSTRACT: This Webinar will cover ongoing projects at the University of Victoria to improve cognitive support for user navigation of ontologies and mappings. During this presentation, I will present the motivation behind and demonstrate a number of visualization, search and mashup tools developed by our group. Some of these tools, such as the NCBO Search and an ontology visualization tool called FlexViz, are available on the NCBO website. I will present newer features of these tools, in addition to novel ideas we are currently exploring to support visualization of mappings over the web and support for visualization as a service within a mashup-like environment. Suggestions and discussion on how these tools could be further improved or tailored to meet specific needs will be welcome during the presentation.
