I want to get some feedback about my proposal of the following initiative. All of this is hypothetical for now.

Proposal:
=============

* A questionnaire about the opinions of HCLSIG participants regarding the Semantic Web in Health Care and Life Sciences will be sent out to the mailing list. A draft of such a questionnaire can be viewed at

http://neuroscientific.net/res/Interview.htm

* The answers to this questionnaire will be collected, enriched with photos of the participants and a nice layout, and made publicly available (preferably on the W3C website).

=============

The motivations for this:

* giving an overview of the activity of the participants of the HCLSIG
* creating a documentation of our activities for the W3C without the need of collaboration between participants and the associated difficulties. Since we still have not submitted any kind of documentation of our activities to the W3C, this would be a nice start.
* Helping the participants present their work to a wider public.
* Creating a reference that can be used for future PR work and as a basis for press releases.
* Creating a reference that helps us communicate the significance of Semantic Web technologies to biomedical scientists.

This initiative could be coordinated with the Semantic Web Education and Outreach (SWEO) group of the W3C. I would volunteer to collect the responses and to compile them into a document. Kei and Susie have already responded to some of these questions as part of another questionnaire I made for the Semantic Web School Austria.

I have proposed this initiative some months ago to the core group of the HCLS IG, but it was decided that the development of the demo scenario has a higher priority, and that such an initiative needs broad discussion. Since our first demo has now been finished, I would like to bring this proposal back into the discussion. Do we have the time and motivation to do something like this? Would you find it useful? Do you have suggestions for other questions? Would you respond to the questionnaire?

cheers,
Matthias Samwald
