I think the benefit would be immense. I have seen so much confusion arising in Semantic Web projects that try to do it the 'smart' way and lump both together. The slightly increased complexity of the implementation is nothing compared to the long-term costs caused by this confusion and the associated barriers to interoperability. - Matthias
