We (TDWG - Taxonomic Databases Working Group - www.tdwg.org) are currently investigating them for use with our taxonomic/biodiversity informatics data located in many databases around the world. We are having a meeting on GUIDs/LSIDs in Edinburgh next week. Kevin Richards Landcare Research New Zealand >>> Mark Wilkinson <markw@illuminae.com> 06/02/06 5:10 AM >>> Hi all, I'm writing a manuscript at the moment where I discuss LSIDs, and I'm trying to get a sense of how many people are using them "in the wild". I know that biopathways has set up a lot of "proxy" LSID resolvers, but that's kinda cheating :-) I'm wondering who is actually using the LSID standard in a production environment. I know that BioMOBY and myGrid/Tverna both use LSIDs, but who else? Any takers? Cheers! Mark -- -- Mark Wilkinson Asst. What's happened now is that the conduit has become so big and interesting that communication has become more than a conduit, it has become a destination in its own right..."
