As you may be aware from Dan Brickley's heads-up post [1], there's going to be a one-day meeting of the Semantic Web Interest Group during the W3C Tech Plenary in Cannes, France, Thursday March 2nd 2006. The group is relatively informal, the meeting open to anyone interested. Dan's the chair of SWIG but is unavailable, so I'm standing in. The (provisional) agenda [2] is virtually full and I'm planning to send out the announcement later today. However there is a little slot I'd very much like to be filled by someone from this group. It can be difficult for anyone not involved in life sciences/healthcare to get a handle on work in the field, yet there is the obvious commonality with other SemWeb activity. There's also the new HCLSIG initiative, and the SWIG is a rich seam for potential collaborations. So - would anyone be available to give a short talk? I've provisionally allocated 20 minutes, although it may be possible to tweak this either way. Bearing in mind the SWIG is general (SW) interest, this should probably provide some background and overview of the role of the Semantic Web in this field, but I'm open to suggestions. Time has also been allocated for lightning talks, they've proved interesting and fun in previous years. So if anyone would like to present something, anything, but *very quickly*, please let me know. Right now the agenda says "max. 10 minutes", if we get a few more of these that figure will have to go down, and the challenge go up... Many thanks, Danny.
