Hi Anssi, I think the coordination is fine as is. I just raised a PR for a specific change we’ve discussed, related to Picture in Picture: https://github.com/w3c/remote-playback/pull/153 Thanks, Chris From: Kostiainen, Anssi <anssi.kostiainen@intel.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 5, 2024 12:12 PM To: Chris Needham <chris.needham@bbc.co.uk> Cc: mark a. foltz <mfoltz@google.com>; Francois Daoust <fd@w3.org>; Mike Wasserman <msw@google.com>; public-secondscreen@w3.org Subject: Re: CfC: proposed new Second Screen WG Charter, review by 8 March External: Think before clicking Hi Chris, Thanks for the review. Here’s the current text: Media Working Group<https://www.w3.org/media-wg/> This group develops Media Capabilities<https://www.w3.org/TR/media-capabilities/> to expose information about the output capabilities for media, which the Open Screen Protocol may align with to expose the capabilities of presentation displays. Feel free to suggest an update. Please also check whether the Media Capabilities description would benefit from an update. What we put in the coordination section is non-binding. I’d consider this section a guide for new participants who may already know Media WG business and are looking for areas to contribute to, for example. Thanks, -Anssi On 4. From a Media WG perspective, this reminds me to follow up on a minor change proposal to the Remote Playback API to describe interaction with the Picture in Picture API, although I’m not sure if we need to mention this in the charter – currently it mentions additional features, but not other maintenance changes, which is how I’d categorise this. The scope of that statement is all the group’s deliverables. We have agreed on the split for the OSP spec, but with this statement we reserve the right to also split any other deliverable of the group as needed. I’d note that statement is not strictly required for the group to be able to do that as long as the work remains within the scope of work, but I think it is helpful. As an editorial tweak we could use the plural form “APIs": "The Working Group may decide to group the APIs and protocol suite in one or more specifications.” That’d also capture a possible spec merge situation. In addition, we could move that statement up in this section to clarify it applies to all deliverables. Francois to craft a PR for review based on group’s feedback. He has a good sense of the language needed to ensure a smooth AC review. Thanks, -Anssi On 28. One small suggestion: we could update the line "The Working Group may decide to group the API and protocol suite in one or more specifications," since we have already done that and reserve the right to further reorganize our specs in the future. m. A few places still use the old "Multi-Screen Window Placement" name, but lgtm fwiw otherwise.
