Re: Second Screen WG/CG - 2022 Q2 virtual meeting - submit your proposals by 19 Apr 2022

Hi Second Screen WG/CG,

You requested for more time to work on proposals for the upcoming virtual meeting, so we made a decision to extend the deadline for proposals until the end of next week, 30 April 2022.

Similarly, we’ll push forward the meeting date to give adequate time for preparations and now target late May or early June, depending on how the agenda is shaping up.

Thanks for your contributions. I look forward to virtually seeing you soon, and hopefully in real life again this September in Vancouver at TPAC 2022 (announcement [1]).

Thanks,

-Anssi (Second Screen WG/CG co-chair)

[+WG’s mailing list]

Hi Second Screen WG,

As per our tradition, we’re planning a spring Second Screen WG/CG meeting and have started a GH issue to solicit proposals:

https://github.com/w3c/secondscreen-wg/issues/4

Please provide your early (don’t worry if not polished) comments and proposals in the issue comments by 19 Apr 2022.

Your signals will help figure out how many meeting slots we should allocate, how to do timezone split and so on. This planning issue is populated with some topics we may want to consider covering but don’t get fixated on those initial proposals.

This is a combined Working Group and Community Group meeting.

As a reminder, the Second Screen WG has the following specifications in its scope currently [1]:

• Presentation API https://w3c.github.io/presentation-api/<https://www.w3.org/TR/presentation-api/>
• Remote Playback API https://w3c.github.io/remote-playback/

• Open Screen Protocol https://w3c.github.io/openscreenprotocol/<https://www.w3.org/TR/openscreenprotocol/>
• Multi-Screen Window Placement https://webscreens.github.io/window-placement/ (repo transfer to WG in progress)

The Second Screen CG provides draft input to the WG by incubating new proposals, both extensions to existing APIs and new APIs [2]. Under the CG scope we can explore a broad range of proposals in this space before proposing them for formal standardization.

Looking forward to seeing you in May!

Thanks,

-Anssi (Second Screen WG/CG co-chair)
