When discussing this on the call just now there was a remark that the current meeting time is 6am for US west coast, while the 5am UTC proposal is 6am for participants from the UK. So someone has to get up early either way... It's really difficult to accommodate for US, Europe and Asia. Another option is to alternate between two different meeting times.
