RE: Request for slot on Leuven meeting agenda to discuss/explore Augmented Reality

Dear SDWIG,

I have already forwarded Christine Perey’s request to David Graham of the CDB SWG and ISG DWG, but not had a reply yet.

Linda,

I’m interested in this, and in progressing the Lyon discussion. WebVMT has a number of current features [1] which are applicable to AR to sync video with geolocation, including moving objects, map annotation and presentation, and future roadmap items like camera direction and data sync [2].

Christine, please let me know if you’d like to discuss AR use cases before your June hackathon. This may provide a focus to identify and refine geospatial-video use cases (e.g. Proxy Explorer [3]) before the OGC TC meeting, which could usefully feed into the discussion in Leuven.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Linda,

Sounds interesting - if there's anyone around from the Interoperable Simulation and Gaming DWG they may also be interested.

Cheers,
Michael

Hi group,

See Christine's message below. When our group met in Lyon last year, there was attendance from some people from the W3C Immersive Web working group. It might be worthwhile to put this item on the agenda as it might help us figure out if/how SDWIG can help coordinate OGC engagement with Immersive Web (WebXR Device API) folks.

Opinions?

Linda

Onderwerp: Request for slot on Leuven meeting agenda to discuss/explore Augmented Reality

Hello,

I have learned that there will be a meeting of this group during the next (June) OGC TC.

I seek to present use cases for viewing spatial data on the web in AR and to share the results of a Web-based AR hackathon to be conducted June 1-2 (which I’m organizing).

Is there interest in this topic and could the chairs grant me a slot on the Leuven meeting agenda?

Many thanks!

Warm regards,

Christine Perey
