Time Ontology and SSN specifications published as W3C Proposed Recommendation

Hello Spatial Data on the Web Working Group participants,

As agreed, the Time Ontology in OWL specification and the Semantic Sensor Network Ontology specification have both been published today as W3C Proposed Recommendations:

https://www.w3.org/TR/2017/PR-owl-time-20170907/
https://www.w3.org/TR/2017/PR-vocab-ssn-20170907/

... also returned if you use the latest published version URLs:

https://www.w3.org/TR/owl-time/
https://www.w3.org/TR/vocab-ssn/

The specifications will remain as Proposed Recommendations until early October to gather possible final comments from the W3C Membership. If not already done, I encourage you to endorse the publication as final W3C Recommendations by having your AC rep respond to the appropriate questionnaires. Provided no issues get raised during that period, the Working Group is basically done with these specifications! They will simply be published as final W3C Recommendation shortly after the end of the review period.

I would like to congratulate the Working Group for getting thus far already, and for respecting deadlines for preparing implementation reports in particular.

Having expressed concerns about the possibility to publish the SSN spec as a W3C Recommendation in a timely fashion in the past, I would also like to explicitly acknowledge the hard work done by the SSN sub-group in the last few months, both on the specification and on the implementation report. Very impressive! I am extremely glad that you proved me wrong! 😉

Thanks,
Francois.
