Hello Spatial Data on the Web Working Group,

I'm pleased to notify this group that the charter of the Spatial Data on the Web Interest Group (SDW IG) has been approved and that the SDW IG has just been created. Chaired by Linda and Jeremy, this group will continue the productive collaboration between OGC and W3C that this Working Group started!

The public announcement is available at:
https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-sdwig/2017Oct/0000.html

The approved charter is available at:
https://www.w3.org/2017/sdwig/charter.html

I invite everyone interested here to join the Interest Group, following the "Join this Group" link that appears on the SDW IG's home page:
https://www.w3.org/2017/sdwig/

Please note that the SDW IG will use a different mailing-list: public-sdwig@w3.org (IG participants will automatically be subscribed to that list).

No F2F meeting is planned for the SDW IG at TPAC 2017, but note Linda will run a breakout session there during the plenary day on Wednesday 8 November, You are all welcome to join and contribute:
https://www.w3.org/wiki/TPAC/2017/SessionIdeas#Spatial_Data_on_the_Web_Interest_Group_session

As a side note, even though the charter of the Spatial Data on the Web Working Group has expired already last week, the Working Group is not entirely done yet. The Time Ontology and SSN specs still need to be published as Recommendations. This should be done within the next few weeks (and should not require any Working Group work). The official closure of the Working Group will be announced shortly after.

Thanks,
Francois.
