Dear SSN folks, I've just been looking at the spec with my "pretend I know something about internationalisation " hat on. In doing so I note the two methods of recording results (sosa:hasResult -> sosa:Result and sosa:hasSimpleResult). The Result class separates value from units - good. And in example 3, hasSimpleResult is shown with a value of "12.4 m"^^cdt:length i.e. it is a typed literal. Good. However, this datatyping is not mandated by the spec itself and, in example 4 it just says sosa:hasSimpleResult "1021.45 hPa" I'm pretty sure i18n would throw a red flag at that. It's a string without any semantics. Therefore, I suggest that SSN follows the example of skos:notation [1] and strongly encourage values of sosa:hasSimpleResult to be typed literals, not plain ones. Doable? Phil [1] https://www.w3.org/TR/skos-reference/#notations -- Phil Archer Data Strategist, W3C http://www.w3.org/ http://philarcher.org +44 (0)7887 767755 @philarcher1
