The minutes of this week's SSN Sub group meeting are at https://www.w3.org/2016/06/14-sdwssn-minutes in which you'll see that the discussion was actually about OWL Time, not SSN :-) Vote on publication of the draft (http://w3c.github.io/sdw/time/) imminent - maybe in next week's plenary. Text version of the minutes below. OWL-time has been around for 10 years. <SefkiKolozali_UniS> Simon: Simon has presented OWL-time. He said Section 2 shows the changes from previous changes. So far the only modifications have been made is the changes addressed in the journal paper Simon has authored. Simon has embedded some issues into the web page. Section 4 is a preliminary overview. <SefkiKolozali_UniS> Simon: There are two subclasses of TemporalEntity class, namely interval and instant. <DanhLePhuoc> [12]https://www.w3.org/community/rsp/ [12] https://www.w3.org/community/rsp/ <SefkiKolozali_UniS> DanhLePhuoc has reported that time overlapping property is a general concern for people who work in stream processing field. It needs to be further developed to help researchers to describe events in more detail. <SefkiKolozali_UniS> Kerry: OWL-Time is good enough to deal with stream reasoning, and there are a couple of good implementation solutions to overcome concerned problem without having a need of modification of OWL-Time. <Kerry> ACTION: danh to investigate needs for temporal relations in stream reasoning to consider for owl-time [recorded in [13]http://www.w3.org/2016/06/14-sdwssn-minutes.html#action01] [13] http://www.w3.org/2016/06/14-sdwssn-minutes.html#action01] <trackbot> Created ACTION-179 - Investigate needs for temporal relations in stream reasoning to consider for owl-time [on Danh Le Phuoc - due 2016-06-21]. <Kerry> issue: do we need to add rules to owl-time to support stream reasoning - realtes to action-179 <trackbot> Created ISSUE-68 - Do we need to add rules to owl-time to support stream reasoning - realtes to action-179. Please complete additional details at <[14]http://www.w3.org/2015/spatial/track/issues/68/edit>. [14] http://www.w3.org/2015/spatial/track/issues/68/edit <Kerry> ACTION: sefki to check through defintions of intervals in owl-time [recorded in [15]http://www.w3.org/2016/06/14-sdwssn-minutes.html#action02] [15] http://www.w3.org/2016/06/14-sdwssn-minutes.html#action02] <trackbot> Created ACTION-180 - Check through defintions of inteval relations in owl-time [on Sefki Kolozali - due 2016-06-21]. <SefkiKolozali_UniS> Simon has asked for a help for someone to look into the definitions of interval properties. Sefki has accepted to check it. <SefkiKolozali_UniS> Simon: the original owl-time schema was based on xml:date time but there is a small room for improvement. It is now based on single calendar, and it needs to be extended to support different calenders. <ByronCinNZ> Isn't TRS analogous to CRS? Can we use similar approach? <Kerry> that gendattimedescriptionbecomes generaldatetimedescription <Kerry> gendatetimedescription? <Kerry> generaldatetimedescription? <Kerry> +1 <ClausStadler> +1 full name preferred as well - gen also overlaps with e.g. generator ;) <SimonCox> General +1 <DanhLePhuoc> +1 full nam <SefkiKolozali_UniS> There has been a discussion to replace the word "Gen" with its full name "General" between Kerry and Simon <Kerry> +1 to that approach for trs <DanhLePhuoc> +q <ClausStadler> While we are at naming: was hasTRS already present in owl time so far? if not, maybe a full name or the abbreviation might be more intuitive? -> temporalRefSys, spatialRefSys <SefkiKolozali_UniS> Simon: Issue 7 was to trigger a discussion on temporal reference system on the ontology. However, he hasn't received a response from the group yet. <SefkiKolozali_UniS> DanhLePhuoc has asked a question about the time zones. Simon said that it is a separete subject as it is subproperty of gregorian clock system and has not worked on it yet. Prepare for W3C FPWD and OGC discussion paper on OWL-Time vote next week <SefkiKolozali_UniS> Simon: OWL-Time now supports Unix and GPS time <DanhLePhuoc> +1 <SimonCox> FPWD: +1 <ByronCinNZ> +1 <SefkiKolozali_UniS> +1 <Kerry> +1 <ClausStadler> +1 <ByronCinNZ> Bye <Kerry> plan: bring to vote for fpwd in plenary meeting next week!
