This is a publication request for an updated NOTE, the Spatial Data on the Web Use Cases & Requirements It is dependent on a final green light from OGC which is expected next week but publication should not happen until this has been received since it is a joint publication by both W3C and OGC. I will send notification as soon as it's available. Document URI ============ http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/NOTE-sdw-ucr-20151217/ Description/HP news =================== This is an update of the extensive use cases and requirements gathered by the Spatial Data on the Web Working Group, a collaboration between W3C and OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium). The document includes two new use cases and a number of clarifications that will enable the Working Group to make progress with its main deliverables, the first of which, a Best Practices document, is expected to reach First Public Working Draft in the new year. Proposed publication date: ========================== Thursday 17 December 2015 The document is already installed at the proposed URL and is PubRules compliant with the following notes: - The copyright notice explicitly includes OGC since this is a joint publication (the sentence is verbatim the same as the currently published version); - Link Checker reports problems with: * https://sweet.jpl.nasa.gov/ * https://www.pdok.nl/en/node * http://library.wmo.int/opac/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=16300 all of which work as expected in a Web browser so these appear to be sites that reject HEAD requests. Record of approval by the WG: ============================= http://www.w3.org/2015/12/09-sdw-minutes#resolution02 There is some example code attached to one of the use cases, one snippet of which appeared to be encumbered by a licence but we have evidence from the code author that it is in the public domain https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-sdw-wg/2015Dec/0067.html Thanks Phil. -- Phil Archer W3C Data Activity Lead http://www.w3.org/2013/data/ http://philarcher.org +44 (0)7887 767755 @philarcher1
