One example (I will look for more): "Please note that the HTTPS protocol <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Secure> works seamlessly in place of HTTP protocol <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypertext_Transfer_Protocol> for all URIs in the PubChemRDF RESTful interface. If you request data using ‘HTTPS’, URIs returned will be ‘https’. This is a feature and it may cause issues for some software packages that depend on the URI uniquely identifying an entity, down to the protocol requesting the URI. Generally speaking, all PubChem web-based resources are configured to work seamlessly with or without HTTP encryption (via ‘https’ or ‘http’ protocol, respectively).
