Hi SchemaBibEx colleagues. Something you might like to comment on. There has been an active thread on public-vocabs<http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-vocabs/2014Nov/0133.html> about the Series<http://schema.org/Series> type which originally came from the TV/Radio community which becomes very obvious from a brief look at its properties. The thread has been about generalising the Series type so that it is applicable as a foundation for other series types such as VideoGameSeries. From my point of view these attempts resulted in a proposal that was not very effective for series of Books. After promoting a flurry of activity by expressing this opinion there has been a significant rethink, stripping Series down to a minimum and coming up with a set of sub-types including BookSeries and making Periodical a sub-type of Series. A preview can be seen here: http://sdo-venkman.appspot.com/Series with links to the proposed sub-types. I have made the following comment in particular reference to BookSeries: Not sure that picking illustrator out as a specific property for BookSeries makes particular sense - its already a property of Book anyway and illustrators may well differ from book to book in a series. I would drop it for now. There may be BookSeries properties that could be added at a later date - seriesEditor comes to mind - but perhaps identifying them at a later date may be more appropriate. They want to move quickly on this as it’s part of a wider release that has been waiting a while. Please comment either directly to the thread on public-vocabs or via me if you find that easier. ~Richard
