Hi and Happy 2013 to all.
I hope you have had a restful and enjoyable festive time.
A few weeks back I asked if anyone was going to be in Seattle for ALA
Midwinter at the end of the month. If there are going to be a few of us, it
would be great to meet some of you face to face for a change.
I believe I can persuade OCLC to subsidise a room and/or some refreshments,
so it all depends on availability of those who will be in town at the time.
I have created a doodle poll to see who would be interested and when they
are available over the ALA weekend. Drop your name and availability on to
the poll <http://doodle.com/8fvgntxgrcpx936w> if you are.
A personal plug for an event I will be hosting whilst at ALA. The Linked
Data Round Table will be on Saturday, January 26, 10:30 am 12:00 pm in the
Washington State Convention Center, Room 213:
> A panel discussion of experts working with interesting projects using library
> linked data. The event will focus on the practical application of, and
> potential for, linked data in the library domain. Panellists are: Mike
> Lauruhn, Disruptive Technology Director at Elsevier; Kevin Ford, Network
> Development and MARC Standards Office at the Library of Congress; and Phil
> Schreur, Head, Metadata Department at Stanford University. Iım sure
> Schema.org will get a mention!
To register for this, or any other OCLC hosted meetings go to:

Regards,
     Richard.
