RE: Proposal for First Public Working Draft of Accessibility of Machine Learning and Generative AI

TO Jason

Thanks for that. Absolutely no pressure to do the Editors Draft quickly but once that is finished, I think the idea of a CFC on list is a great idea.

Scott.

Thank you, Scott, for advancing the conversation.

If it would save time, we could, I assume, put forward a Call for Consensus on the mailing list to forward the draft to APA for consideration. However, we still need an editor's note to alert readers to topics that remain unaddressed.

I took an action to draft the editor's note, and I am yet to complete the action. If we accept the Note, then we're ready to decide on a request to APA to publish a first public working draft.

Based on the great discussion last week and the minutes from yesterday, would it be possible to look at progressing consensus on list for the 1PWD or does it have to happen in a meeting? If that could be done on list then I'd be in favour of it as once we're agreed to progress to 1PWD we then have certainty to progress all the messaging as proposed.

Scot.

Dear colleagues,

From this week's Task Force meeting there is a proposal to proceed with a First Public Working Draft based on the current text, with only editorial changes. An Editor's Note can be added that identifies topics not yet addressed in the draft and which foreshadows a likely reorganization of the document.

If we decide to proceed accordingly, we could profitably discuss editorial issues and announcement text at next week's meeting. However, we won't be able to decide formally to put the draft forward for a Call for Consensus until 12 March, as Janina is unavailable next week.

Shall we hold a brief meeting at the usual time next week to discuss this proposal? I am available to facilitate.
