Survey questions from Silver Task Force
jgw: Comments on their survey instrument were requested by today.
... Far too short a timeline ...
ds: Intention is to have a very small set of questions that will be asked to every stakeholder group
... Can request time if needed
jgw: Thanks to David for compiling comments into a doc.
... This is our last chance for comments and meeting their requested deadline.
... Assuming there will be more rounds, especially targeted at specific stakeholder communities.
ds: Specific Question: Would RQTF like to be in the loop for the various communities to be surveyed?
... Noting the distinction between the users of the web who need a11y, and those who use the guidance to create content
sh: I think we'd be happy to continue to provide feedback
jgw: Any further comments? Either current questions? Or future plans?
[crickets]
jgw: Asking where the recieved comments are to be posted?
ds: So far just keeping them in a word processor doc.
... So far, I'm in aggreement with suggestions and can forward on their list
... Foliot had an important I18N point, but probably out of scope for now
jgw: So, plan is that David will circulate a summary to the list, and if we're OK, will be forwarded
js: Wondering whether a formal RQTF CfC would be a good thing to do before forwarding.
ds: I'm almost ready, and people could respond
jgw: Is response by Thursday sufficient, recognizing it's a short turnaround?
[no disagreement]
jgw: Anyone with a problem reviewing in the next 24 hours?
[crickets]
ds: Yes, a good observation about providing us sufficient time to do things right.
jgw: OK, we'll respond by tomorrow, so we can forward by Friday, if no objections.
... It's interesting to learn which resources are helpful to which stakeholders.
... That certainly suggests more detail in the surveys in the future
Authentication: questions and liaison with Web Authentication Working Group
jb: Reads questions re authentication that were privately circulated ...
js: Had thought they went to list
<scott_h> +1 for circulating questions to web authentications from me!
jgw: Asking whether any mods to these questions?
sh: Asks whether wai-ig would be too broad?
jb: Suggest we work on building up the questions first
jgw: So, we'll work on how we contextualize, and present here next week.
Accessibility of virtual reality devices and systems
[general discussion on how VR can assist]
<Judy> js: it's going to be a larger discussion than usual
jgw: Noting the coming APA discussion may present research questions for us
<Judy> js: many interesting topics and applications. charles lapierre gave a good presentation at the vr workshop last fall.
<Judy> js: many good & interesting applications of vr that go well beyond entertainment, application, etc
<Judy> jb: yes, both with regard to accessible design of mainstream vr applications, also with regard to potential applications of vr to dsiability and accessibility
topics
<Judy> jason: any other comments and questions? please review things in the coming days and weeks.
<Judy> jason: adjourned.
