RIF-PRD implementation report according to http://www.w3.org/2005/rules/wiki/Implementations: 1. Contacts: Changhai Ke, Christian de Sainte Marie, Colleen McClintock, IBM 2. No URL yet. 3. Implementation of RIF-PRD using IBM WebSphere ILOG JRules (proof of concept state). This is implemented as a translator. It operates in 2 directions: from RIF-PRD XML format to WebSphere ILOG JRules rule language, and the reverse. The translator is written in Java. Due to some limitations in the RIF-PRD format (to be detailed later), the translator has been made to operate with some configuration files. An object model on the RIF/PRD concepts has been built to serve as intermediary pivot model for the translator. 4. The translator has been tested using complete rule bases, which are quite simple, but operational. We do not have time yet to go through all the RIF-PRD test cases, and doing so, we will certainly discover some new issues in the translator or in the test cases. Although we have strong interest to make this translator compliant, we are unsure that RIF-PRD is usable enough and it is highly possible that we encounter blocking issues. 5. Probably no. 6. So far no. But this question will be answered after an investigation, which is reserved for later. 7. A detailed report on the encountered issues, at least in the specific case of IBM WebSphere ILOG JRules, should be provided at the end of this POC.
