As I understand it, an XML/RDF document can be viewed as both schema-valid XML and as an RDF graph. If there is something about XML/RDF that makes it impossible to express an XML schema for it, then I withdraw my support for XML/RDF. I see the pros/cons as pros: - we don't argue about arcane XML "coin flip" decisions - XML tools are happy (don't need to know anything about RDF) - RDF tools are happy - we don't end up with some kind of "partially striped ad hoc xml" that lacks consistency and looks like it was designed by committee cons: - verbose. so what? We'd need to start over to get significantly more terse. I'd rather make a pass over the presentation syntax and have a PS <-> XML/RDF bidirectional translator. I don't want to read or write XML -- no matter how many stripes we remove, there are still too many pointy brackets for me!
