Welcome to RIF

Dear all RIF participants,

 

Just to introduce myself. I joined the RIF some weeks ago, and I am still looking for my place in the RIF working group. I studied linguistics in the University of Oviedo and finished my PhD program in Logic. Nowadays, I work at the CTIC Foundation (http://www.fundacionctic.org <http://www.fundacionctic.org/> ) as a researcher, specifically in knowledge representation in the Semantic Web. Our team has some ontology-based projects like a semantic search engine and some industrial applications. What I expect participating in this WG is that RIF rules will be compatible with ontology technology and chiefly with OWL vocabulary and RDF semantic model.

 

My experience with rule systems is limited, so I am updating myself before starting to participate in the WG. Although my daily work is far from profound theoretical issues, I hope I can contribute to this WG. The systems I am used to work with are real scenarios for some RIF use cases, like RIF as knowledge representation format in the Semantic Web universe and the compatibility between OWL-DL and different kinds of rules-based reasoning.
