Zakim lets people identify themselves via touch-tones as well as Caller-ID and IRC. Using IRC doesn't work well when multiple non-caller-id people arrive at the same time, so I thought we should give the touch-tones a try. I just sent mail to the people who Zakim most often fails to recognize, telling them their codes: Chris_Welty Darko_Anicic Dave_Reynolds Donald_Chapin Giorgos_Stamou Guizhen_Yang Harold_Boley Hassan_Ait-Kati Holger_Lausen Jeff_Pan John_Hall Mala_Mehrotra Peter_F_Patel-Schneider Philippe_Bonnard If you think it would be useful for you to have a code as well, please let me know. By the way, one way to test that you are correctly identified is to enter "41#40#" on your phone. You should see on IRC something like: * Zakim hears YourName's hand up * Zakim sees YourName on the speaker queue * Zakim hears YourName's hand down * Zakim sees no one on the speaker queue This should work even if you are muted. Obviously this is slightly disruptive to the meeting, but it's better than muting the wrong person or having the attendance records be wrong, so feel free to do it if you're not confident you are correctly identified on the call. -- sandro
