> non-user-modifiable client components What a useful phrase. The requirement for those "non-user-modifiable client components" is essentially the cause of all the conflict. That is the *one* point that has been identified as non-negotiable by both sides. So, that's how I'd express things so far: 'Big media' has demanded that the W3C allow 'non-user-modifiable client components' to become part of the Open Web. Everyone else has demanded that the W3C not do so, because said components are inimical to Open Web principles.
