Dear All, I'm relaying the announcement to the group's primary public mailing list, to notify the group of the approval of the initial charter for the RDF-star Working Group and call for participation. Regards, Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Call for Participation: RDF-star Working Group Charter Approved; Join the RDF-star WG Date: Mon, 29 Aug 2022 20:39:32 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] The Director is pleased to announce the charter of the RDF-star Working Group: https://www.w3.org/2022/08/rdf-star-wg-charter/ The group is chartered from 29 August 2022 to 28 August 2024. The mission of the RDF-star Working Group is to extend the recommendations defining RDF 1.1 and SPARQL 1.1 with the features introduced by RDF-star. More precisely, RDF-star introduces the notion of quoted triple to express statements about statements. The abstract and concrete syntaxes of RDF and SPARQL are extended to support this new feature, as well as their respective semantics. RDF-star has become quite popular, especially as a means to provide interoperability between RDF and Property Graphs, and has already been implemented to various extents by a number of vendors and open-source libraries: https://w3c.github.io/rdf-star/implementations.html Please use the following form to join the group. The form will also instruct you how to nominate participants: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/rdf-star/join Please consider diversity when proposing people to participate in W3C groups. Representation from a wider group of people, especially people from under-represented groups, is vital for creating web standards that meet the needs of the wider web community. The group chairs are Adrian Gschwend (Zazuko) and Ora Lassila (Amazon). The Team Contact is Pierre-Antoine Champin (15% FTE). The group plans to have a meeting during TPAC 2022. More information about the group can be found on the group home page: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/rdf-star [...] This announcement follows section 5.7.2 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2021/Process-20211102/#ACReviewAfter and the Call for Participation follows section 4.4 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2021/Process-20211102/#cfp Thank you, For Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director, Pierre-Antoine Champin, RDF-star Working Group Team Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications
