There is no reference in the SHACL document to SPARQL 1.1 Query Language W3C Recommendation 21 March 2013 http://www.w3.org/TR/sparql11-query/ even though several parts of SHACL appear to normatively depend on SPARQL queries and lots of the rest depend on certain functions in SPARQL. There is a normative reference in the SHACL document to SPARQL 1.1 Overview W3C Recommendation, 21 March 2013. https://www.w3.org/TR/sparql11-overview/ even though this document does not appear to have any normative content.
