Introduction: Steve Harris

Primary representative for Garlik.

I am the Head of Architecture for Garlik Ltd[1] and our AC rep to the
W3C. Garlik is a UK-based startup which provides services related to
personal information.

I served on the previous incarnation of the DAWG - initially
representing University of Southampton[2], then Garlik. I've designed
many RDF storage and query systems, ranging from small in-memory
stores to to clustered stores designed to run over hundreds of machines.

Garlik's services are built as applications running SPARQL queries
over the SPARQL protocol to our internal RDF stores. We've tried to
use standard SPARQL where possible, only using proprietary extensions
to provide aggregate functions, select expressions and insert data
where absolutely necessary.

We would like to see the working group produce it's deliverables to
schedule, focussing on features which are widely implemented,
uncontroversial, and useful to the community of users. We feel that
this work is long overdue, and will be of immediate use to us.

Email is the best way to contact me, I generally use the nickname
"SteveH" when on the W3C IRC server.

- Steve
