Mathias - thanks for pointing this out with the details. It's a bug in the grammar (Turtle and SPARQL), not an intended design decision. Raw colons are only allowed in the local part, not the prefix part of a prefixed name. a:b:c is the prefix name pair (a:, b:c) We'll fix it. Andy (as editor of the SPARQL grammar and person who made the mistake in the first place.)
