What is Next: We need to pin down in the next stage (~3 months) the approach for mapping and what we will do regarding Linked Data by end of March or mid April? In the mapping area, we need to support ETL approach (mapping DB to materialized RDF then querying the RDF store) as well as on-demand mapping. From the presentations, I think I heard two main approaches for mapping SQL views to RDF/OWL:

* SQL centric approach (Oracle) by building triples tables and leverages the SQL engine optimizer. Most of the work is done in SQL.
* Semantic web centric (lack of a better term): mapping DB view into RDF/OWL classes mainly with little or database support, etc.

Let us discuss in this meeting how to go about the mapping part: which approach we would adopt or possibly having the mapping language to support both and the choice between the two approaches is an option (something comes to mind, IDL language supports the notion of explicitly specifying an argument to be passed by value or by reference)?

Also, we have not talked about supporting/leveraging SQL vendor specific capabilities

There is also what we will do in Linked Data in the WG, Michael will send us his thoughts in that regard soon.

Let us focus in this meeting on how to go about mapping first. After Michael sends his mail we will also do the same for Linked Data. The other issue that I would like us to cover is time frame; is end of March or mid April is reasonable?
